Seeking His presence or HIs manifestations?

As believers, it is crucial for us to be mindful of not allowing our fascination with God's works to overshadow our relationship with Him. The Bible, in John 14:6, teaches us that Jesus said, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' This powerful verse reminds us that our focus should be on seeking God's presence and understanding His nature, rather than solely being amazed by the miracles He performs.

In Psalm 111:2-3, we are reminded of the greatness of God's works, 'Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them. Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever.' While it is important to appreciate God's works, it is equally important to seek His presence and focus on His character and essence.

When we shift our focus from solely observing God's manifestations to actively seeking His presence, we deepen our relationship with Him and strengthen our faith. James 4:8 tells us, 'Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.' This verse emphasizes the importance of actively seeking God's presence and fostering a deep relationship with Him.

It is important not to become so focused on God's outward manifestations that we neglect to spend time in His presence. In Psalm 46:10, it says, "Be still, and know that I am God." This verse reminds us of the significance of quieting our hearts and minds to truly experience the presence of God.

While it is wonderful to witness God's miracles and blessings, our relationship with Him is truly deepened when we seek His presence and spend time in intimate communion with Him

In Matthew 6:6, Jesus instructs us to go into our rooms and pray to God in private. This shows us the value of a personal, private time with God where we can connect with Him on a deeper level. When we prioritize spending time in God's presence, we open ourselves up to experiencing His peace, guidance, and love in a profound way.

In the midst of marveling at God's works, it is crucial to pause and seek His face. In James 4:8, it says, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." This verse underscores the importance of actively pursuing intimacy with God. By shifting our focus from observing God's acts to seeking His presence, we enrich our spiritual connection and cultivate a deeper relationship with Him.

Let us not allow God's external manifestations to hinder us from seeking the true essence of His presence. By prioritizing spending time with God, we invite Him to dwell in our hearts and transform our lives in ways that surpass human comprehension.

Our pursuit should and must be focused on knowing and emulating the heart of God as revealed through Jesus Christ.

John 1:14 illustrates this beautifully, 'The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.' By fixing our gaze on Jesus, we gain a deeper understanding of God's love, compassion, and righteousness.

When we deeply understand the nature of God, our spiritual warfare shifts from a battle between ourselves and the defeated enemy to a discerning pursuit of God's presence. Ephesians 6:10-11 advises us, 'Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.'

By keeping our hearts and minds attuned to the truth of who God is, we can confidently navigate challenges and obstacles with faith and trust in the victory already secured by Christ.
